Welcome to the home of Riverhead, NY's Cub Scout Pack 242. Pack 242 was formed in 1981; sponsored by the Riverhead Moose Lodge, it is part of the Suffolk County Council of NY. We have a proud history of offering our boys an opportunity to experience the excitement and fun of scouting.

Here are just some of the many events that the scouts may participate in:

• Participation in the annual Riverhead Memorial Day and Christmas Parades
• Community Service activities such as Riverside Clean-up, Beach Clean-up, Caroling
  at the local nursing home as well as many other activities.
• The Spring Trip, which is for Scouts and families with transportation provided. In the past we have visited places such as the Bronx Zoo, Musum of Natural History, Sagamore Hill, Liberty Science Museum, The Intrepid and we're always looking for more suggestions!
• Our yearly Pinewood Derby race which usually takes place in January.
• The annual Blue & Gold Dinner which is an opportunity to recognize the hard work of the parents and the achievements of our Scouts. This dinner usually happens in March.
• Den events which are organized by each individual den.
• Monthly Outings such as Bowling, Minature Golf, Nature Hikes and much more!
• Camping, the Pack organizes a Cub-Parent weekend at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, a Family weekend as well as a Day Camp week. We also do fundraisers to help pay for the camp, many scouts have been able to earn enough to go to an entire week of day camp for FREE!
